Milledgeville, Georgia

Milledgeville, a lovely town in central Georgia, was once the state's capital city and hosted the country's first celebrity barbecue honoring America's friend and Revolutionary War hero, Marquis de Lafayette, attended by thousands.

This college town was the home of the novelist Flannery O'Connor whose home, Andalusia Farm, is a national historic shrine.

It was Ms. O'Connor who observed that, "A Good Man is Hard to Find," that became the title of one of her books.

And, the Oconee River Greenway Park and Riverwalk provides a beautiful area to walk, jog, bicycle, relax and enjoy the beauty and sounds of the Oconee River.
